Poker Power

My Role

Overview

Poker Power is an educational platform aimed at teaching women the game of poker to enhance their strategic thinking and decision-making skills. The goal of the UX redesign project was to create a more engaging, intuitive, and user-friendly experience for our diverse user base, ranging from complete beginners to advanced players.

The Problem

Despite initial success, user engagement metrics showed areas needing improvement. Users reported difficulties in navigating the platform, and many found the learning curves steep and overwhelming.

  • Limited engagement with interactive elements

User Research

  1. User Interviews: Conducted with 20 users, including new and experienced users, to gather detailed insights into their experiences and challenges.

  2. Surveys: Distributed to 300 users to gather broader feedback on their experiences with the platform.

  3. Analytics review: Analyzed user behavior using Google Analytics and Hotjar to identify pain points and usage patterns.

Wireframes

Low-Fidelity:

Initial wireframes focused on streamlining the user journey and hightlighting key content areas.

High-Fidelity:

Developed high-fidelity wireframes using Figma, incorporating branding elements, a clean visual design, and interactive components for desktop and mobile versions.

Usability Testing:

Conducted usability testing with 15 participants representing the target audience. Participants were tasked with navigating to specific courses and completing tutorials.

Metrics Monitored:

  1. Task completion rate

  2. Time on task

  3. User satisfaction (post-test surveys)

  4. Error Rate
